Summary:
The Appointment Scheduler assists patients, providers and clinical staff in the delivery of an excellent patient experience in a fast-paced neurosurgery or orthopedic clinic setting by answering incoming calls, scheduling patient clinical and imaging appointments, and providing quality customer service and follow up.
Essential Functions:
Deliver the highest quality customer service in a non-judgmental and non-discriminating manner, sensitive to patient needs.
Answer incoming phone calls, listen to and interpret patients' needs.
Schedule and adjust clinical and imaging appointments as needed.
Contribute to a team-oriented environment by engaging in constructive communication with providers and insurance carriers.
Complete administrative tasks in a timely and organized manner such as sending correspondence, documenting calls, entering authorizations and updating demographics.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Experience in a customer service role or in a clinical, hospital or nursing care facility.
Strong computer and typing skills to enter information quickly and accurately.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Experience in a scheduling and scheduling applications.
Experience in a neurosurgery or orthopedic setting.
WORK CONDITIONS:
Must be able to tolerate mostly stationary activity, including sitting, standing, stooping, carrying, talking, seeing, bending, and handling.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Office is in a healthcare clinic.
Job will require contact with clinic staff, and patients.
