Job Description

Inside Sales Specialist: We need a talented individual for our sales and logistics team in our West Omaha, NE location. Primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining long term customer relationships to market livestock feed commodities to both new and existing accounts. This position requires extensive phone and email communication with customers, in additional to working closely with merchandisers, vendors and freight carriers. Approximately 90% of the time will be spent making contacts via phone & email. We offer a competitive salary and benefits, with typical office hours of 8am-5pm.


The candidate is expected to learn and assist in various aspects of sales, merchandising and logistics. Duties include monitoring grain and grain product markets, and identifying potential needs of both customers and vendors to find opportunity to bring value to our business partners through product sales. The ability to understand customer expectations and meet delivery deadlines is a must. Candidates should possess superior communication and problem solving skills, and proficiency in Outlook email, Excel & Word applications. Internal software programs will be used extensively to track sales and shipments of products. Must be able to handle a fast paced environment with changing variables and deadlines. Prior experience with agricultural products or transportation is desirable but we can train the right person.

Position Responsibilities: The candidate will work with JDH personnel to learn the following:


o Telephone Sales - Develop skills necessary to make sales contacts with both new and existing customers, and support customers through discovery of needs and product quotes. We desire to build long term relationships with our customers.


o Merchandising - learn concepts of trading, merchandising, and hedging such that he/she can assist in grain and feed merchandising and serve as a backup for sales and merchandising staff.


o Sales Support - Develop skills necessary to support sales force including, but not limited to, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, contracting, and delivery of commodities and finished feed products.


o Account Credit Management - Understand the process and become aware of financial risk associated with trading feeds and commodities. Communicate with customers to resolve any issues such as past due accounts receivable.


Position Qualifications:


o Bachelor's degree or higher: Agricultural background preferred.


o High level of detail, multi-tasking, and problem solving.


o Positive, self-motivated individual with organization, communication, and negotiation skills; commitment to continuous learning.


o Strong customer service commitment.


o Strong memory and ability to connect past experience to present day opportunities.


o Ability to analyze and interpret procedures and mathematical problems. o Ability to maintain professional demeanor in a fast paced environment.


Compensation:


o Base Salary - TBD and commensurate with skill and experience levels

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
