The Technician¬ position is available at the Merck Animal Health facility in Elkhorn, Nebraska, located on the West end of Omaha.¬  The Elkhorn facility is expanding operations to manufacture animal vaccines and biologics. Looking for talented individuals to join our Production teams using key technologies for cell culture, filling and packaging.¬ 





  • Ensures quality product by knowing and maintaining company and Departmental standards and procedures.

  • Perform sterile operations according to Standard Production Processes (SPPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Operates steam in place vessels, fermenters and/or bioreactors to prepare cell and viral cultures.

  • Sanitization or sterilization of designated areas and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and perform adjustments of equipment as required.

  • Ensure all assigned equipment and components are staged for assigned operation.

  • Maintain documentation and other duties as assigned


This position is Tuesday thru Saturday from 3PM - 11:30PM and is eligible for both a shift differential and a weekend premium for hours worked on Saturday.


Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Math aptitude

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to lift 50lbs on an intermittent basis

  • Strong attention to detail¬ 

  • Good documentation practices

  • Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test


Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of cGMP and inventory control concepts strongly preferred.

  • An understanding of aseptic techniques and procedures preferred.

  • College degree in a relevant scientific field (biology / chemistry, life science)

  • SIP (steam in place) or CIP (clean in place) experience preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
