The Project Estimator is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources including salespeople, suppliers, vendors, and blueprints - and using that information to estimate the time, money, labor and materials required to meet our clients needs. This individual delivers a wide variety of security solutions on multiple platforms including video management systems, access control systems and intrusion systems. This key technical position supports Prime Communications customers with consulting, design, installation, and integration of PCIs technology solutions in a manner that is professional, customer centric and focused on best practices.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Use advanced verbal and interpersonal communication skills, to internally and externally explain complex systems and implementation plans, as well as the basics of technology dependent upon the situation
Manage bid pricing from vendors
Deliver prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
Develop ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and pursuing industry certifications
Other duties as identified and assigned
Bachelors Degree in Applied Science, Electronic Engineering or other related field is preferred.
5+ years related experience is desired.
Must be able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
Should possess a strong understanding of commercial security solutions and processes.
Must be able to work on multiple, concurrent, and complex projects.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel is required.
Knowledge of Visio and Bluebeam is highly desirable.
Must possess impeccable problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Must highly organized with excellent time management skills.
Must possess a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Must have a confident and professional demeanor and a customer-focused approach.
Must be able to work at a high level independently and in teams both as a leader and member.
Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
Must maintain a valid drivers license. A varying combination of work in the office and in the field may be required.
Applicable industry-specific certifications are desired.
Additional Notes
Probationary period of 90 days
Must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral & written communication skills.
Must be able to pass a drug screening as well as meet background requirements.
Must be available to work variable hours.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
